If you’re a fan of NCIS and wondering if “Tiva” will be resolved in the first two episodes, Michael Weatherly may have some good news for you, according to TVLine.com.

“I think that for DiNozzo and for me as an actor, that ‘holding pattern’ has been incredibly fun to play — I love working with Cote, she’s awesome — but also it’s been eight years, and we haven’t dealt with it,” he told TVLine in a recent interview. “It WILL be dealt with.”

Finally! After an eight-year tease we get some closure. (It’s a shame someone had to quit for it to happen but at least it’s happening.)

Cote de Pablo has been on “NCIS” for eight years making many fans fall in love with her character Ziva David. Therefore, when she appears in her final episode in September, some may question how the sow will hold up going forward.

However, Michael Weatherly (Anthony DiNozzo) reminded fans the show has been through this before.

Weatherly recalled one of the first major exits in “NCIS” history, when an ill Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly) was taken out by Russian assassins.

“I remember being with Cote at the end of Season 5, walking through the Mojave desert and into a diner and seeing Lauren Holly’s wax dummy in a pool of blood,” said Weatherly. “I thought, ‘This is crazy! I didn’t see this coming at all. I mean, she’s the director of NCIS!

“We have great writers and a remarkable core DNA that [Show Creator Donald] Bellisario created,” Weatherly added, “and somehow it’s so sturdy that it withstands all of these changes.” He also pointed out Bellisario’s departure from the show after Season 4 as one of the changes “NCIS” had to overcome.”

Season 11 of “NCIS” premieres Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 8/7c on CBS.
