The trailer for "American Ultra," a stoner thriller featuring Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart, was released on Wednesday, Yahoo News reported.

"Since 1953, the government has been conducting a top secret mind control program to create super soldiers," the trailer's narrator explains. "These sleeper agents live among us, waiting to be activated. They could be your friend, your family, or the person you least expect."

The new teaser pieces together the a hilarious storyline. Eisenberg's character is a stoner convenience store clerk named Mike Howell who realizes the government is out to kill him and discovers he is one of the aforementioned secret agents. The action starts when Howell gets activated and incredibly kills two men with a cup of ramen noodles and a spoon.

"Hey, I just killed two people," Howell says on the phone to his girlfriend Pheobe, played by Eisenberg's "Adventureland" co-star Kristen Stewart. "I took a spoon and just like shoved it through this guy."

Throughout the course of the film, Howell transforms from long-haired toker to a super-soldier and sets out to defend himself and Pheobe from the enemy.

The action-comedy's cast is rounded out by Topher Grace as Adrian Yates, Connie Britton as Victoria Lasseter and John Leguizamo as Rose. Written by Max Landis  and directed by Nima Nourizadeh, "American Ultra" is slated for an August 21 release.
