Legendary comedian Carol Burnett is set to receive the SAG Life Achievement Award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The show will air on Jan 30 where Burnett, 82, is to be the fifty second recipient of the award presented by SAG-AFTRA, which honors those with the "finest ideals of the acting profession," according to a SAG press release.

"Carol Burnett is a creative dynamo and a comedic genius," says SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard in the statement. "She embodies the generosity and courage that the greatest actors use in creating enduring and memorable characters...Carol has delighted and inspired millions of viewers and thousands of comedic actors."

Burnett is known for paving the way for female comedians and for her legendary variety show, "The Carol Burnett Show." Howard refers to "The Carol Burnet Show" in his statement as "a masterpiece of variety programming." This award joins the comedian's six Emmys, five Golden Globes and a plethora of other awards that honor her trailblazing performances over the last 50-plus years, according to Entertainment Weekly. Burnett has also won a special Tony, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Mark Twain Prize for Humor, reports USA Today
