"Game of Thrones" fans have come to understand why showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff ultimately cut Bran Stark out of season five. The character had reached his endpoint in both the show and the published novels and the duo decided it would be better for Bran to return as a fully trained warg and seer similar to how Luke Skywalker began "Return of the Jedi" as an official Jedi Knight. Naturally, viewers assumed the North of the Wall plots would pick up again in season six. Now, we have an official confirmation.

Bran actor Isaac Hempstead Wright spoke with Irish Examiner about the upcoming season of "Game of Thrones."

"I can't say a lot but I am back this season, and it's going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions."

Wright also revealed that he will begin shooting his scenes for season six sometime this month, though he had nothing to say about the mysterious fate of Jon Snow.

When last we saw Bran, he had reached the Weirwood tree beyond the Wall and met up with the Three-Eyed Raven. Fans are led to believe that he spent all of last season training and honing his psychic skills off-screen. Cutting him from season five was an attempt to keep his character's narrative roughly on the same timeline as the books.

"The fact is, even though we're making changes to the books and adapting as necessary, we're trying to keep the various storylines the same as the books and trying to keep them roughly [chronologically] parallel," Benioff said via Cinema Blend last year.

Fans and book readers may not know what is coming next season, but at least they know that Bran and Hodor will be a part of it.
