It looks as though Kevin Seraphin will definitely be on the move this offseason. Seraphin is a free agent who has played the first five seasons of his NBA career with the Washington Wizards mostly as a backup big man. In his five years in the NBA, Seraphin has only started 31 games but has played in 326, and it appears that now he is looking to go somewhere he can start, according to ESPN.com.

At this point, it looks like the majority of the teams interested in Seraphin are contenders, so his ability to start on those teams might be in question. If he is really set on starting, he will have to likely choose a lesser team to prove he is worth starter's minutes. Among the teams interested in the 6'9" power forward are the Dallas Mavericks, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Phoenix Suns and the San Antonio Spurs according to Michael Scotto.

A lot of the teams interested in Seraphin are pretty well set in the frontcourt especially the Spurs, but if the Suns move Markieff Morris like is rumored that could be a good landing spot for him. The Lakers might also make some sense as they are set at the guard position but could use some help up front.

Seraphin had his best two season stretch with the Wizards from 2011-2012 to 2012-13, and that directly correlated to the amount of minutes he was getting. In those two seasons, Seraphin averaged over 20 minutes and provided some scoring off the bench. In the past two seasons though, Serpahin had been kind of phased out of the rotation after the Wizards had a ton of depth up front with Nene, Marcin Gortat, Drew Gooden and Kris Humphries.

Seraphin has a knock down mid-range jump shot, is a pretty good rebounder and blocks some shots, so if he is given a bigger role, whether it is as a starter or a sixth man, he could really help a team out. A look at his numbers per 36 minutes shows that if he got more playing time he could average about 14 points and eight rebounds per game.

Odds are that Seraphin isn't going to break the bank with the amount of money he gets as a free agent considering he only made $3.8 million last season, but his deal can end up being a bargain for whatever team scoops him up. It will be interesting to see if he holds true to the fact that he wants to start, or if he changes his mind and joins a contender.
