Photos of Scott Disick and his ex-girlfriend Chloe Bartoli getting cozy and partying in Monaco have been all over the Internet these past few days. When Kourtney Kardashian, his girlfriend for the past nine years, got wind of the photos, she called it quits.

Now, it's coming out that Disick wouldn't even leave the vacation early to try and fix things with Kardashian. "He wouldn't go home, even though people told him to go home to [Kourtney] and his family. Things were already very tense between him and Kourtney," a source told People. 

When Disick found out that the photos had emerged and Kardashian had most likely seen them, he continued to make excuses and say he needed more time. "It was one excuse after the other," the source continued. "He said, 'I just need to stay away for another day to think things through' or 'I already have my flight planned.' The truth is, Scott was terrified."

The two have three children together, and Kardashian realized she needed to end the relationship for the sake of her children. "Kourtney is willing to sacrifice her relationship with Scott in order to keep [her kids] safe," a different source said. "She needs to protect herself and her family, so she knows this is the right decision."

"He acts out, he rebels, he drinks too much, and he embarrassed her," the source continued. "He just rebels against the crazy responsibility of having three kids and makes Kourtney do it all."

Kardashian's sister Khloe is the first of the Kardashian/Jenner clan to somewhat publicly show her support for her sister. The two have a very close relationship, as it is seen throughout their reality TV show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." While news was breaking about Kourtney ending it with Disick, Khloe tweeted a cryptic message.

"Everyone has their own journey to the pursuit of happiness," she wrote.
