"Fifty Shades of Grey" has made another Forbes list. Recently, author E.L. James ranked as number one on Forbes Highest-Paid Authors List beating out James Patterson. According to the magazine James made a total of $95 million last year for her erotic novels. She sold books "faster than any other author in history - more than 70 million in the first eight months they were on sale in the United States," Forbes reports.
Now, fictional character Christian Grey has made another list. The kinky billionaire ranks in at number eight on the "2013 Forbes Fictional 15." Grey beat out other fictional characters like Mr. Monopoly, Jay Gatsby, Lara Croft and C. Montgomery Burns.
Each year the business magazine tallies the net worth from some of the most popular and wealthiest characters from movies, television, books and games. Ranked at number one was Scrooge McDuck, who has an estimated $65.4 billion fortune in gold coins.
Grey was one of several new faces to join the list this year with an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion. The character attributes his wealth to hard work, binding employment contracts and lack of personal distractions. He is demanding, takes his job seriously and a task-master, Forbes writes.
"I go with my gut and 99% of the time it doesn't let me down. If you can free your mind from the clutter of other people's expectations and the constraints of what's expected of you, there's no limit to what you can achieve," Grey says in the book.
James happily tweeted the good news on her Twitter account. She recently excited fans when she posted on her account that she was back in Los Angeles. Over the weekend, producer Michael de Luca also tweeted that he was heading back to L.A. and James tweeted about meeting up with him.
Many fans speculated that this announcement is good news and could mean that a casting announcement could be made soon.
Do you hope official casting news will be announced soon?
