When asked in a recent interview what he'd do if he were fellow "The X-Factor" judge Demi Lovato for a day, Simon Cowell was quick with an answer: "he'd" give himself a kiss! Does Cowell want to Lovato to kiss him, or is he just being his usually arrogant self?

In a new video interview, a young fan posed the question, "If you woke up as Demi Lovato one day, what would you do?"

Cowell didn't have to think carefully, as he quickly responded, "Come over and kiss me," before clarifying, "I'd kiss myself," and added he'd hope it was a nightmare if he woke up as Demi Lovato.

Cowell's cheeky declaration surely excited many fans of the two stars, as both have undeniable chemistry together...as friends, that is. Not only is Lovato currently dating Wilmer Valderrama (though she refuses to confirm it for privacy reasons), she's made it clear that her BOSS is "way too old" for her, as the two get a lot of enjoyment out of busting each other's chops on and off the panel.

Despite their bickering, however, the two have confirmed their friendship and mutual respect for one another, as Lovato has never been afraid to call out Cowell on his antics or make fun of him to his face, and Cowell seems to enjoy this side of her.

"I think we've cracked his shell a little bit," Lovato told E! News recently of the ways she and fellow season 3 judges Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio have found their experiences with Cowell.

"People are surprised, and I was definitely surprised - especially after working with him for so long, too. He's just continued to surprise me...in being just a really great person and he's really sensitive and he's a good guy and people only see the really mean Simon on TV. The thing is he's just saying what all of us are thinking anyways."

Cowell's brutal honesty often makes him the "jerk" and "bad guy" of his popular singing competition reality shows, though his co-stars assure us that he's not as mean as he seems, and is actually quite charming in real life.

"I think that he is always respectful. Always classy," Rowland told E! News. "And I think that he will be like that as a father. He will be a classic father figure."

Cowell is expecting his first child with ex-girlfriend Lauren Silverman, who is reportedly 11 weeks pregnant.

We hope to see a more paternal side to Cowell this season on the U.S. version of "The X-Factor," which premieres September 11 and 12 on FOX at 8/7c.
