Emilia Clarke is having herself one good year.

First, the "Game of Thrones" star was named "Woman of the Year" by GQ magazine, and now she can add the title of "Sexiest Woman Alive" to her impressive resume. The 28-year-old actress was given the title by Esquire magazine, and took over as Sexiest Woman Alive from last year's winner, Penelope Cruz, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Emilia Clarke is unforgettable in Game of Thrones and was hands down the number one choice of Esquire's staff, friends and family," Lisa Hintelmann, editorial projects director for Esquire told the Associated Press.

The actress posed nude for the Esquire photo shoot, something she is used to doing for HBO's critically acclaimed series "Game of Thrones." The actress has previous appeared completely naked in a number of scenes thought out the run of the show. While Clarke was used to disrobing for the HBO show, she told "Game of Thrones" producers that she was done filming nude scenes because she wanted to be recognized for her acting talent and not her breasts.

"I don't want to have sex thrown in my face and I've always thought the suggestion is so much more titillating than the act itself. Most sex scenes you see in films or on TV are gratuitous and they're usually just to attract an audience," she said. "On screen, the subtler the better."

In September, Clarke got the honor of being named "Woman of the Year" by GQ. She was presented with her award for her outstanding work in "Game of Thrones" for her portrayal of Khaleesi, otherwise known as Daenerys Targaryen.
