Emilia Clarke is just as surprised by HBO's "Game of Thrones" season 5 finale as most viewers are.

With one of the main characters, Jon Snow, getting stabbed to death by his young steward, Olly, in the finale, it came as quite a surprise to fans. Clarke, who plays Khaleesi, revealed to MTV News that she was "just as surprised as everyone else."

When it comes to what the show has in store for next season, she knows just about as much as we do. "[The 'Game of Thrones' showrunners] know that I can't lie very well," she admitted during the interview, claiming they haven't told her what will happen next. "Seriously, I can honestly say that I have no idea what's happening."

Although it's pretty obvious Snow had died, Clarke, and many other fans, still think "there's a 50/50 chance" of him returning for season 6. "There's some very helpful people there who could, like, bring him back to life," she said.

For her character's sake, though, she may not be too upset about Jon Snow not returning because she joked about how it would get her "that much closer to the throne."

Her and Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, are extremely close on and off the set. When she read the script for the finale, she couldn't believe what she'd just seen.

"I read the script and I cried," she admitted. "I called David and Dan, and I took Kit out for numerous drinks, and was like, 'what the...what the...you're leaving me?'"

The hit show, which had a record breaking 8.1 million total viewers for the finale alone, is no stranger to killing people off like it's absolutely nothing, so it really wouldn't be that surprising if Jon Snow never returns.

As for Harington, he has said that he's "not coming back." He admitted in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, that he kind of knew it was coming because he had heard what happened in the books, but he "didn't realize it would be the final shot of the season and that made it extra special."

One of the directors, Dan Weiss, also told Entertainment Weekly that, "dead is dead."

"We would hope that after seeing the scene and the way it's shot that the answer to that will be unambiguous in the minds of people watching," he revealed. "It should be pretty clear what happens in by the time you're done seeing that scene. It's not an, 'Oh what just happened scene?'"

Harington revealed that he's looking into doing some movies for next year, so we will most likely be seeing him on screen again, just probably not as Jon Snow.
