Sometimes we forget that not every hot shot in Hollywood knows one another. It's why your favorite actors and directors don't work together on every single movie. It's why fans haven't gotten, say, a brain exploding awesome film starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and directed by Steven Spielberg.

But at least that pair has opened up a line of dialogue.

In a lengthy interview with Esquire, the "San Andreas" star revealed that he received an unsolicited letter from none other than Spielberg himself. According to Johnson, the letter said:

"Been enjoying your movies over the years. Very entertaining. I feel like I've really gotten to know you over the years, most recently after watching you host Saturday Night Live. Great job, You continue to go for it. Proud of your work and look forward to meeting you. Steven Spielberg."

Johnson has been Hollywood's top earner over the last two years but even he was star struck by the note. Johnson said he was "blown away" by the gesture and took it as a sign that he had made it as an actor.

Here's Johnson enjoying the amazing moment.
