California kidnapping victim Hannah Anderson made her first public appearance at a fundraiser in her family's honor.

Hannah, 16, was rescued Aug. 10 following a six-day, multi-state manhunt for her and her alleged abductor James Lee DiMaggio, who was killed during the rescue. DiMaggio is accused of killing Hannah's mother and brother, 44-year-old Christina Anderson and 8-year-old Ethan Anderson, on Aug. 4.

Hannah was seen Thursday afternoon at a fundraiser in San Diego community of Lakeside, according to CBS News.   She did not make a statement to the press, but her father, Brett Anderson, spoke to reporters.

"This is a small community that we are a part of. The community came together putting on this great fundraiser for Hannah... and this is how Lakeside rolls," Brett told reporters. "So I just wanted to say how much we appreciate it from everybody, the community, family, friends for being here ... and local sheriffs and law enforcement."

Hannah's father added he called the horsemen spotted his daughter, giving police the tip needed to find DiMaggio, to thank them for saving her.

"It was a chance encounter, but it did save my daughter's life," Brett told reporters. "Other than that, Hannah sends her love. She's doing good day by day, and we'll just keep moving forward from there."

Hannah reportedly broke her silence since the kidnapping by answering questions about the even on social media site Ask.fm, under the account "Hannahbanana722." The teen reportedly stated she believes DiMaggio "got what he deserved."

Court documents relating to DiMaggio's case were unsealed on Wednesday. NBC News reports DiMaggio allegedly tortured Christina and Ethan before killing them. Hannah did not know her mother and brother were dead until she returned home on Saturday.

In the unsealed documents was a warrant for DiMaggio's phone records. The document shows Hannah exchanged 13 phone calls with DiMaggio on the day of the alleged murder and house fire.

"It has been learned through interviews with Hanna [sic] Anderson's friend that DiMaggio took her on multiple day trips. The most recent one being to Malibu and Hollywood," the warrant said.
