There has been a lot of talks about the upcoming Divergent series "Ascendant" TV movie since it surfaced that the 3rd installment of the franchise will be turned into a TV movie instead.

With that being said, fans have been hoping that the rumors about its cancellation are not true. However, author Veronica Roth has recently taken to her Twitter account to announce some good news for the Divergent series fans.

An Epilogue For The Trilogy?

Roth wrote the bestselling novel during her final year of college. She recently revealed on Twitter that she is going to be releasing an epilogue on one of the characters of the trilogy. Recent reports have said that Divergent series Veronica Roth confirmed that the epilogue We Can Be Mended picks up five years right after Allegiant.

"I've always said that the Divergent series felt complete to me, but I realized there were still some stories that were left untold," Roth said in a short video clip that she posted on Twitter. "So I wrote something about what Tobias had been up to in the year right after Allegiant."

Roth also told her followers that they can get a copy of the epilogue upon pre-ordering her new book. It is a sci-fi thriller titled "Carve the Mark." They can also buy it during the opening day on January 17, 2017.

Ascendant Not The Last One

Roth's official announcement was definitely a very welcoming news for the avid divergent fans. Many have also been hoping that the "Divergent Series: Allegiant" TV movie will not be the last one in the series.

Due to the poor box office ratings of the "Divergent Series: Allegiant," speculation have surfaced regarding the cancellation of the 4th installment. However, it later revealed that the "Ascendant" will release as a TV movie or a spin-off series.
