With some recent news surfacing that the Divergent: Ascendant movie is going to be turned into a series, a lot of its original cast members have opened up about their disappointment over continuing with the project.

Shailene Woodley, the Lead star who originally plays the main heroine, Tris Prior, was totally shocked by Lionsgate's recent announcement about turning Divergent: Ascendant into a TV series instead. As per reports, the actress has only found out about their decision from the press and complained about not being personally notified by the studio.

In her own personal statement, she let out all of her frustrations. "The last time I heard was they were trying to turn it into a television show, and as far as I can remember, I didn't sign a contract to be in a television show," Woodley stated. Divergent co-star, Miles Teller, also wasn't very pleased with the decision to shift from movie to series.

"We all signed in hopes that it would be released in theaters, and we all had every reason of finishing the entire project," Teller said. "We were shocked by the recent turn of events." When asked if he was still willing to do his role again as Peter in the final movie in the Divergent franchise, Teller shrugged and said, "I don't know. This one's a whole different set of circumstances. We'll see."

Despite all the shaky statements that everyone made, it was Ansel Elgort's statement, however, that made the solid conclusion that the rest of the Divergent cast members are not interested in reprising their roles in a TV series adaptation.

Elgort said it is heartbreaking that they weren't able to say their proper goodbyes to one another as they were all under the impression that they will be working on a Divergent: Ascendant film. From his statement also, it is clear to say that even Theo James is also not returning as Four.
