Despite splitting up in June, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have carried on like a regular married couple with planning family vacations and spending time with their children, and although the first holidays after a divorce can be awkward, the former couple is determined to spend the holiday season together.

"Jen and Ben are figuring out right now how they can best spend the holidays together," a source told People, adding that Garner "wants to get along with Ben for the kids' sake."

An insider added that Affleck and Garner want to focus on "making the day fun for the kids." This means that Affleck will have to take a break from directing and starring in his film "Live by Night," which is filmed in Georgia and Massachusetts and co-stars Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana and Scott Eastwood.

Another source told E! News that the couple is trying to a normal family life, saying, "They are a unit. They are all about the kids and making sure they are okay. They are committed to parenting together."

They will be spending time with both sides of their family, especially since the holidays are all about spending quality time with family and loved ones.

Sadly, in June, the couple announced that they were ending their 10-year marriage. The two said in a statement that they remain committed to co-parenting their three children- 9-year-old Violet, 6-year-old Seraphina and 3-year-old Samuel.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple said in a statement to E! News. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children, whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."

Affleck and Garner, who began dating in 2004 and married in 2005, have not filed for divorce yet. Despite the relationship status, the two are keeping their promise of putting their children first.

"Not a lot has changed since they split up as far as the kids are concerned," a source told E! News last month. "Ben and Jen trade off taking them to school, depending on whose schedule is free that day. Sometimes they get coffee in the morning or take the kids to karate or for ice cream after school. They do a lot of stuff together, by choice. Even though just one of them could go and get the kids, they've been making an effort to both go together."
