Corinne Foxx, Jamie Foxx's 21-year-old daughter, has been named Miss Golden Globe 2016, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) announced Tuesday.

Foxx, whose father won a Golden Globe for "Ray," will assist in the awards presentation with Ricky Gervais, who will be hosting the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards. The title is traditionally given to the son or daughter of a Hollywood celebrity.

"I've grown up watching my dad establish himself as a well-respected actor," Foxx said, according to Entertainment Weekly. "I'm honored ... to now share the same stage where he's been recognized for some of his greatest accomplishments."

She added that her proud father was filled with emotion and joy when he heard the news. "My dad, he's a little bit emotional. He won't admit it, but he had tears in his eyes and he was so happy for me to kind of have my own thing now," Foxx said, according to People.

Fox joins the list of famous celebrity sons and daughters who have been honored with the annual title, including Greer Grammer, daughter of Kelsey Grammer; Francesca Eastwood, daughter of Clint Eastwood, and Sam Fox, son of Michael J. Fox.

"We are delighted to have Corinne Foxx continue the tradition," HFPA President Lorenzo Soria said. "Like her father, she leads a fine example of following her dreams and we can't wait to see what she does next."

The Hollywood Foreign Press also announced Monday that Denzel Washington will be honored with the lifetime achievement Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards, as HNGN previously reported.

The 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live on NBC on Jan. 10, 2016.
