Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs has not been seen by any of the Ravens coaching staff or front office since he ruptured his Achilles tendon in the season opener, according to Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun.

The veteran linebacker tore his Achilles in the fourth quarter of Week One against the Denver Broncos.

"You try to find why things happen, and here's a tough break for a guy who's done nothing but work above and beyond to a degree - at least as hard as he's worked his whole career," said head coach John Harbaugh after the injury, via Baltimore Ravens.

Since the injury, the organization has received no phone calls and just one text message from the six-time Pro Bowl linebacker.

"The last time I spoke with him was after that game and in the locker room," said general manager Ozzie Newsome, via the Baltimore Sun. "I don't know what his future plans are, but I'm sure he will return. He hasn't told me definitely, but knowing him like I do, I would bet he is coming back."

There is concern though, as the Ravens traded away his close friend Haloti Ngata this past offseason, and the star linebacker is coming off his second Achilles tear, according Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk. While the Ravens linebacker is likely just rehabbing on his own, many think he would bring inspiration to the team if he were around.

Harbaugh reportedly would prefer Suggs be around the team, according to Preston. The Ravens have dealt with veteran linebackers debating about continuing there careers, like Ray Lewis, and Newsome knows the team will be careful in handling Suggs' future with the organization. "I know what he is going through and you have to be careful with this at this time of his career. I've been through that myself. I can relate to that, I understand. Ray Lewis was like that, and there is a very fine line for a player and us to approach," said Newsome, via the Baltimore Sun.

It's unclear what Suggs' future holds, but the Ravens would like to have their star linebacker back on the field next season. Suggs has been in the league for 13 seasons, and after suffering another major injury it's not impossible to think he could retire. The Ravens are 1-6 this season, and they will clearly need to address issues with their defense, as it doesn't look the same without Suggs.
