An abandoned kitten has been found inside a box by a woman who was walking her dog and found a note written by a child asking someone to save the kitten.

Rachel Bjork was walking her dog in Seattle when the dog saw a cardboard box lying on a ground, which made him curious.

Bjork got curious, so she opened the flap of the box and to her surprise, she saw a tiny orange and white kitten recoiling inside.

A note that appeared to be in a child's handwriting was attached on the flap of the box and read: "My mommy's boyfriend is mean to me. Desperet for loving home. [sic]," the Daily Mail reported.

The kitten was only shy of 2 months old when Bjork discovered it. She then took the tiny kitty to a veterinarian before taking it to the MEOW Cat Rescue shelter in Kirkland, Wash.

"The baby is now in a foster home with other kittens of similar age and doing very well," the shelter wrote on its official Facebook page.

"We have more questions than answers, but are forever thankful for the bravery of the child who knew the kitten deserved better and the kindness of the woman who saved the kitten."

The post has since garnered 3,000 likes and has been shared more than 400 times, with some users offering to adopt the tiny kitten.
