Simon Cowell Baby: Demi Lovato Weighs In on the 'X-Factor' Judge's Pregnancy Scandal, 'He's a Great Guy'

One day after sources confirmed that Simon Cowell is expecting a child with his friend's wife, fellow "X-Factor" judge Demi Lovato is weighing in on whether or not the tough Brit will be a good dad.

"I don't have any advice to give someone who has lived like a hundred more years than I have," Lovato joked when asked to share some tips on how Cowell should handle the sticky situation. "But I have a lot of fun with him and he's a great guy. He'll be good."

Sources revealed Wednesday that the 53-year-old "American Idol" alum was expecting a child with Lauren Silverman, a New York socialite and wife of Cowell's pal, Andrew Silverman.

Though the Silvermans are technically still married, sources told Us Weekly they were estranged when Lauren got close to Cowell.

"Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while," the source said.

While Cowell has yet to officially weigh in on the announcement, telling interviewers that he has to "keep this private" for now, Silverman has released a statement.

"I am committed to sorting things out with Andrew as amicably as possible to ensure the well-being of our son," her lawyers told E! News, referring to her 7-year-old with her current husband. "I would hope for some space and privacy in order to work through this."

Despite the drama, Lovato insists that Cowell is surprisingly sweet.

"People are surprised, and I was definitely surprised. Especially after working with him for so long, too," she said. "He's just continued to surprise me...in being just a really great person and he's really sensitive and he's a good guy and people only see the really mean Simon on TV."

According to E! News, Cowell is expected to publically address the situation next week.
