Simon Cowell is going to be a father. The "X Factor" judge is expecting his first child with his friend's wife Lauren Silverman, US Weekly reports.

Silverman is married to Cowell's friend, real estate mogul Andrew Sullivan. A friend confirmed to the Daily Mail and US Weekly that the New York socialite is in fact "ten weeks along" in her pregnancy and wants to marry Cowell.

According to the Daily Mail, Cowell and Silverman have been dating for about a year right after she split from her husband. Even though Silverman's marriage has been on the rocks for a while, she is technically still married.

"Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while," a source told the Daily Mail. "As their marriage deteriorated, she and Simon became close."

According to the source the 36-year-old socialite wants to marry the competition judge. Cowell has said several times that he thought he wasn't father material and in a 2009 interview wasn't even sure if he wanted to have kids at all.

"God, no. I couldn't have children. If I had them here drawing on the walls, I'd go nuts," he said. "With kids, you've got a routine you can't escape from. You've got to be up at a certain time. Got to listen. When all you want to do is sit in a corner thinking."

A couple years later Cowell, who is known for being harsh and tough to his contestants while on "American Idol," seems to have had a change of heart. In an interview just a few months ago he said that he hasn't ruled out completely whether he wanted to have children or not.

"I haven't ruled it out. If I knew I could be - how do I put this delicately- faithful, I would," he said. "I do like kids, I'm just not sure I'd be any good for the first six months. I don't think I'd adopt because I'd rather have my own. I'd have to say I'd like a little girl."
