*******SPOILER ALERT*******
Normally we would never consider asking you to click away from HNGN to go elsewhere but we really must insist, if you haven't watched this past Sunday's episode of "True Blood" you're not going to want to keep reading. Not only are there scary stories about Vampires and Werewolves but there are even more frightening spoilers ahead. You have been warned.
It seemed obvious from the second he was introduced that Ben was not to be trusted and for seemingly the first time ever on this show our beloved Sookie figured it out in time. It turns out that Ben isn't Ben after all, he's Warlow.
Right at the beginning of the episode while Ben-soon-to-be-Warlow is tending to Jason that he isn't the faery we thought he was when he bares his fangs and cures Jason with his blood. This led to a whole bunch of confusion because Ben had been out in the sun many times in the show, how could he be a vampire?
Well, it turns out that he's a mix of faery and vampire, seemingly getting all of the best powers from each side with none of the weaknesses; he certainly had no trouble chowing down on the silver-laced death meal that Sookie prepared for him.
Unfortunately Warlow was able to get the best of the Faery Grandpa Niall, one of the more entertaining characters on the show. Rutger Hauer has always excelled at being a little bit creepy yet incredibly intimidating, see "Blade Runner," so it was fun to see him play a character that was a little bit out of his norm. Although, even if Niall was thrown into another dimension after having the majority of his blood drained something tells me we haven't seen the last of him.
Remember last week when it seemed like Eric had made a bit of a rash decision by kidnapping Willa Burrell? Well, he doubled down and turned her into a vampire. What "True Blood" has taught us about vampires is that it takes a little while for them to learn how to be a vampire or else they go a little crazy. The maker is supposed to guide them through the process and help them find their way. With Willa Eric decided to do things a little bit differently, he sends commands her to go back home to the number one vampire hater in the universe, Governor Burrell.
The scene when Willa returns home is one of the best so far this season. The trepidation the SWAT team member has in his voice when explaining to the Governor that they had to "invite her in" was fantastic. We also learned that Sarah Newlin has once again slept her way to the top as she is obviously more than just a political ally of the Governor's. Although, after shooting Willa and having her be taken to the camp Sarah and the Governor's relationship might be a bit rocky in the future.
Andy's faery children, if we can still call them children, got into a fair amount of trouble once they aged about 10 years while sleeping. This story line is no longer being played just for a bit of comic relief. Bill's plan to kidnap the girls and mine them for their magical blood backfired as it appears that they may now be dead after Jessica couldn't resist feeding on them.
The episode fades out with Sookie about to use her super-faery-light-ray-gun power to kill Warlow...but we know she won't do it. As amazing as it would be to see her blast him to pieces we have to remember it's a TV show that has not even reached the midpoint of the season, there is no way the main villain is going to be dispatched with this easily. Although maybe they'll reward us with another twist and Warlow will be no more. After all, it's Bon Temps, another villain is sure to come along any day.
