Samsung Press Event Livestream: New Additions to Galaxy and Ativ Lineups Expected

It has been a little less than a month since Samsung announced it would be holding a press event in London on June 20. In order to make sure no one forgets about its major event, especially in the wake of a major press event from Facebook on the same day, Samsung sent out a reminder of its big "Premiere Event" at 2 p.m. (ET).

The event reminder teases a livestream on the company's YouTube page, which can be found HERE.

The South Korea-based electronics company will, presumably, be using their London press event to focus on some additions and updates to its Galaxy and Ativ lineups. The initial announcement came complete with close-up images of three new devices people expect announcements on at the event. The company hasn't really shared many details about the devices pictured, or even if they're one hundred percent new. However, they appear to be teaser images of new phones and tablets with a simple but elegant black and silver theme.

Samsung is clearly trying to keep its established position as a major player in the smartphone market by putting its press event right between Apple's World Wide Developer's Conference, where they announced the new iOS 7, among many other things, and Microsoft's Build Developer's Conference.

With the Galaxy S4 smartphone doing so well on the smartphone market, the company appears to be capitalizing on its current hot streak. Thursday's event will likely showcase some new features in the Galazy series, sporting the Android operating system, and the Ativ series, which sports the new, albeit failing, Windows 8 operating system.

Fans of both operating systems will likely have something to look forward to at the event on Thursday. With new devices as well as new software likely to go on display from the emerging electronics giant, only time will tell what new things the company has in store for its users and fans.
