Miley Cyrus Considers Weed to be Safer than Alcohol

In a candid interview that appears in Rolling Stone's upcoming July issue, Miley Cyrus doesn't admit to smoking pot but offers a rather knowledgeable take on it. "I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves," said the 20-year-old singer. "I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana - people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care. I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be," she added.

Back in 2011, Cyrus made an infamous comment at her 19th birthday party, "You know you're a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake. You know you smoke way too much f**king weed." According to Daily Mail, her rep, however, quickly came to her defense, "It's all been taken out of context. The cake was a joke and Miley's response was intended to be sarcastic."

Prior to that in 2010, Cyrus was photographed with a bong, which she later claimed was the legal hallucinogen salvia. Media reports last year quoted from Cyrus' interview with Marie Claire where she revealed that producer Pharrell Williams wanted to work with her after the incident. "Pharrell said, 'Don't be offended because this is how I talk, but [I thought], That b**ch is actually living. She's not sitter there with her Momager's chain on her door. I want to free that bitch. I want her out of her cage," she said.

Earlier this month, Cyrus had people speculating about the possible drug references in the lyrics of her new single "We Can't Stop". One set of lyrics goes: "Everyone in line in the bathroom, trying to get a line in the bathroom". These were surmised to be alluding to cocaine. Another line that goes, "Dancing with Molly", was conjectured to be a reference to ecstasy ('molly' is slang for that). Cyrus denied the latter allegation in her Rolling Stone interview, stating that the line is "Dancing with Miley" but sounds like "Molly" because of her accent. According to E! News, no comment has been issued about the "trying to get a line in the bathroom" lyric.
