Many people have different feelings during their pregnancy and Salma Hayek felt no different when she was pregnant with her daughter Valentina.
According to Glam Belleza Latina Magazine, who spoke to the actress, she revealed she was not too fond over some of the setbacks of pregnancy.
"I gained so much weight, I got an opportunity to see myself completely disfigured in many different ways -- for a very good reason -- and I don't regret it for a second," said Hayek to the magazine, which features her on the cover. "That's when I started appreciating my body. The things that I used to criticize, they were not that bad after all."
The 46-year old gained a total of 50 pounds with her daughter and explained that it has an affect on a person's confidence, especially women's.
"We've got to fight for our confidence every day in modern life because we live in a society that is very harsh to women," the actress said. "You have to be smart and successful and a good mother and beautiful and young and skinny forever."
Despite her age, Hayek firmly believes she had her child at a good age.
"I've already established my career," Hayek said. "I think it's very good to have a child at this age."
Hayek goes on to explain that "Success is happiness" and "If you've found the right companion for life, a good relationship with loved ones, if you are healthy -- my God, you are immensely successful."
Hayek, who has been married to Francios-Henri Pault for four years, reveals this is the happiest she has ever been.
"A lot of women think that this is the [age] when you start getting depressed," she said. "To that I say, 'No, no, no, no, no!' I'm having the best time of my life."
