Rumors began swirling back in October that "Twilight" heartthrob and Kristen Stewart's ex had a "multimillion dollar deal with Dior." It is now being confirmed by Women's Wear Daily that Pattinson is in fact the new face of Dior Homme, their fragrance for men.
The "Twilight" star joins a long of list of celebrities who are also ambassadors of Dior beauty products including Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman, Eva Herzigova and Alain Delon. Actor Jude Law and model Jamie Dorman have also been the face of Dior Homme scents.
According to Women's Wear Daily, French director Romain Gavras, the man behind M.I.A.'s "Born Free" video and American photographer Nan Goldin shot Pattinson in the new campaigns which will debut Sept. 1 in magazines for both men and women as well as in daily newspapers. The TV commercial will also debut the same month in 60-second and 80-second lengths.
E! was the first to break the story about R-Patz's new deal back in October.
"Rob likes the brand," a source told E! adding that his contract was for the next three years.
According to the Huffington Post this is a huge deal for the actor. Not only is this a much needed boost from all the Kristen Stewart breakup drama but they are reporting that his deal with Dior was for $12 million. To show just how big this is, Brad Pitt's 2012 deal with Chanel was reportedly for $7 million.
Dior announced the news on their Twitter page posting a picture of the "Twilight" actor staring into the camera wearing a black turtle neck. On their website they described Pattinson as "a heartthrob actor with a dazzling career that parallels the trajectory of the legendary fragrance."
