Movie goers excited for the next “300” movie can now view a new poster for the film. The poster shows the main character Xerxes who appears to have just come from a battle. A giant, blood-red wave stands behind him in the background.
In addition to the poster, fans can expect a trailer for the movie to appear online at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, according to ComingSoon.net.
“300: Rise of an Empire” is based on “Xerxes,” the graphic novel by Frank Miller. Director Noam Murro will take the story from the pages and put it onto the big screen in the same epic style as the first “300” movie.
“Rise of an Empire,” which will be available in 3D and IMAX, is about Xerxes and his Persian army as they battle Greek general Themistocles.
The movie will star Lena Heady as Queen Gorgo, Eva green as Artemisia(The movie was orginally going to be called "300: Battle of Artemisia"), Rodrigo Santoro as Xerxes, David Wenham as Dilios and Sullivan Stapleton as Themistocles, according to the International Movie Database.
Warner Bros. is hoping “300: Rise of an Empire,” turns out to be just as successful as the first “300” movie—which racked up close to half a million dollars worldwide.
According to IAmRogue.com, Warner Bros. ran into a bit of an issue when they decided to make another “300”—almost all the important people in the first movie died. However, they were able to team up with Frank Miller who wrote “Xerxes,” a prequel to the story of Leonides.
“300: Rise of an Empire” is scheduled to hit theaters on March 7, 2014.
