"American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy is being a real tease. He recently chatted with Entertainment Weekly to dish on the current fourth season and to also drop some clues to keep everyone talking.

After discussing an upcoming episode, Murphy revealed that all the seasons are connected. The fourth season already has a bunch of tie-ins to past seasons but also holds clues for Season 5. Murphy previously said that fans could probably figure out the theme for next season by paying attention to the first couple episodes, and he reiterated that fact to EW.

"They're all connected. We're just beginning to tell you how they're connected. They're all very separate but there's clues every season that we're now telling you how the different worlds are intertwined," he said.

"There are purposeful connections, character connections, and similarities and things that connect that we'll continue to connect moving forward," Murphy added.

He then said there was a big clue for Season 5 in the recently-aired fourth episode. You remember when that cop handed Maggie (Emma Roberts) a coffee cup? Murphy said the top hat printed on the side was there for a reason.

"That is a big season five clue! It's an arcane clue, but it's very purposeful, and it illuminates something that you'll be like, 'Oh! You dirty b****!," he told EW.

Well, nothing gets past "American Horror Story" fans and there's already a Reddit thread dedicated to the top hat cup and theories about what it could mean for Season 5. Warning: Read at your own risk, could contain spoilers for the fifth season.

As one user pointed out, Murphy could be gearing towards a season focusing on "Operation Top Hat," where the United States Army Chemical Corps personnel tested biological and chemical warfare decontamination methods in the 1950s.

Others thought Season 5 could have a magician theme (with a spooky twist, of course), while some fans hinted at Area 51 as a possible location. Murphy recently dismissed rumors that Season 5 would be in outer space.
