If you’ve been looking for a quick and effect workout, Chris Jordan might finally have the answer for you, according to CNN.com. Jordan, the director of exercise physiology at the Human Performance Institute, has created a six minute workout—focusing on high-intensity circuit traning—that will get you in shape and does not require a lot of materials.

The workout instructs you to do as many reps of each exercise—jumping jacks, wall squats, push-ups, abdominal crunches, step-ups using a chair, squats, tricep dips using a chair, planks, high knees, lunges, push-up rotations and side planks—for thirty seconds while taking breaks of 10 seconds between each exercise.

"[High-intensity circuit training] is growing in popularity because of its efficiency and practicality for a time-constrained society," Jordan said in American College of Sports Medicine's Health & Fitness Journal’s may and June issue. "The combination of aerobic and resistance training in a high-intensity, limited-rest design can deliver numerous health benefits in much less time than traditional programs."

The Human Performance Institute was founded by doctors Jim Loehr and Jack Groppel in an effort to aid the performance of athletes. Later on the institute expanded its services to law enforcement, the military and even executives from major companies.

Jordan constructed "The Corporate Athlete Course"  to help high end business employees perform whether they’re at work or elsewhere.

"Business executives, much like athletes, have to perform under pressure. Numbers count for everything. They're always on," he said. "Being energized can help us be the best we can possibly be at those times that really matter."

Since you’re essentially doing 12 exercises for 30 seconds each back to back, Jordan said this work out is not for someone new to exercising. It keeps your heart rate at 85 percent to 90 percent of its maximum level for each of the 30 seconds.

"This is a relatively short, but intense, nonstop workout. As a consequence, it's quite demanding on the body," he said.

The workout activates hormones that can help the loss of fat. According to research done on the subject, the effect the hormones have lasts for up to three days.
