Marissa Jaret Winokur Reveals The Secret to Shedding 60 Pounds

Marissa Jaret Winokur appeared at the Hollywood premiere of the Disney film "Wreck-It Ralph" after shedding 60 pounds and speaks about her unbelievable weight-loss journey since January.

"I started working out like a mad woman and eating healthy," Winokur told People earlier this year. "Right before Thanksgiving [2011], I was like, 'Oh, no, I'm starting to gain weight.' I can gain 20 pounds in a heartbeat."

Winokur started working out since January and shed 60 pounds. She also said she was more confident in her size 14 but had to work out due to health reasons.

"When I was a size 14, I was super happy. I felt confident in my body. The doctor was saying I'm not healthy, so I needed to change my way of life," she said in an interview.

Although Winokur lost those extra pounds, she talks about other actresses who are much skinnier than her.

"I definitely have moments where I'll go to an audition or a meeting and girls are just so much skinnier," she said. "I'm still in Hollywood. I still will be considered a chubby actress."

"It's super hard," Winokur said about losing the weight. "I work out two times a day...I'm eating protein and vegetables...I've done it all. I've done every single, solitary diet."

Winokur points out that along with eating right, it's very important to keep a tab on the portions you consume.

"If you say to me, 'You can have as much broccoli as you want,' I will binge on broccoli, but that's not right either" she said. "Everything has to be in moderation or else your body gets used to [big plates]...Portion sizes are really important."

Winokur said losing weight was not an obsession but a need. She defines it as a "wake-up call."

"I'm definitely not the person that's like, 'I'm going to lose weight to fit in a dress' or 'I need to lose weight for a boyfriend or a job.' I've had a great career," the told "The Insider" "I'm happily married. I have a beautiful son. I've never felt like my weight defines me."
