Sofia Vergara Says Being ‘Pretty’ and ‘Voluptuous’ Has Opened Many Doors

The supremely gorgeous Sofia Vergara has no qualms talking about her body publicly.

In a recent interview with HuffPost Live, the "Modern Family" actress candidly answered questions about her twin assets. Asked by host Marc Lamont-Hill if she ever feels objectified.

"I feel very grateful. I don't like to complain about things that God has given me," she said with a laugh.

Vergara said her body and looks have helped her career.

"To be a pretty girl, to be a voluptuous girl, has opened many doors for me," she said. "I would be ungrateful to say it's all because of my brains and my talent."

Her success can't entirely be ascribed to the way she looks, though.

"I know who I am, I know what I've done. I know there are always younger, prettier girls coming every day," said Vergara. "I have stayed working for 20-something years, so there must be something else behind the guns."

It's funny Vergara used the word "guns". In the promotional poster for an upcoming movie called "Machete Kills", in which the actress plays the role of Desdemona, she can be seen firing in fury from a weapon (shaped like a metallic bra) strapped to her chest.

In the past, Vergara has spoken about the fashion challenges she faces with her shapely curves. "The key for my body is tailoring," she told Vogue in an interview in its March issue. "I spend more money on tweaking and fixing the clothes than the actual clothes."

Vergara now has designers like Vera Wang and Donna Karan creating clothes especially for her and her hourglass shape. "My dresses are like a work of art inside because, you know, I am 40 years old, I had a baby, and I am a 32F boob," added the actress. "And they are real still. When they are fake, you take the bra off and they are still there, perfect! Me-no, so I have to bring them up! I have to build the dresses up to here so that the bras-ach, it's a whole, der-ugh-tchah!"
