The same day the Kardashians were celebrating a new milestone about to happen in their lives, Heidi Klum was celebrating her own milestone in Los Angeles at the Hotel Bel-Air, according to Yahoo! News.
The supermodel celebrated her 40th birthday Sunday at a hat party with a group of close friends, her children and boyfriend Martin Kristen. Klum wore skinny black jeans, heels and a sequined blazer with a silver top hat. All of Klum's guests followed the mad-hatter theme including Fergie who attended the affair with a large wrapped gift, according to Yahoo.
Klum spoke of of the unique party idea on the "Ellen" show ahead of the big event.
"Everyone has to show up in a hat," she told the host. "So it's all girlfriends of mine and everyone has to wear a crazy hat. So we're all going to sit around with some hats on, which I think is fun."
She said she was looking forward to the new benchmark in her life and being able to spend the day with people who are close to her.
"I'm excited. My friend is actually throwing a party for me and it's going to be a hat party," she said. "I can't wait! We'll be having burgers, ice cream, fries, chocolate. All the usual stuff."
The "Project Runway" host filed for divorce from ex-husband Seal in April 2012. She began dating her long-time bodyguard Kristen in September of the same year. Klum continues to model and joined "America's Got Talent" as a judge.
