After a brief hiatus from Twitter because of nasty and hateful comments, Zayn Malik has rejoined the social networking site. Malik's mother Patricia Malik, noticed the negative comments did not stop and decided to create an account of her own to defend her son, UPI.com reports.
After creating her Twitter account, the One Direction star's mom began to address the critics tweeting to one user who said the group would be better off without Malik.
"Hope you're happy now Zayn noticed your tweet! You can't even imagine how it made him upset, you psycho," his mom tweeted.
The protective mother is not afraid to vocalize her anger when she spots a negative comment about her son. She often posts on the site telling people to be nicer and urging her followers not to pay attention to the comments.
This is not the first time a family member has protected Malik on Twitter. Earlier in the year, his sister, Doniya posted "Get a life sad f-k! He don't even know you exist."
Last year, Malik announced on Twitter that he would be deleting his account because of all the daily backlash he was getting.
"The reason I don't tweet as much I use to, is because I'm sick of all the useless opinions and hate I get daily, goodbye Twitter," Malike posted.
The Sun, a U.K. newspaper, reports that the pop star was being attacked for his Muslim faith and South Asian background. He was even getting messages about being a terrorist.
Before finally deleting the account Malik posted "My fans that have something nice to say can tweet me on the one direction account."
Almost immediately #ComeBackZayn and #ZaynComeBack began trending.
Malik's mother is not the only parent to defend a child against negative comments. Cher also took to Twitter to defend her son, Chaz Bono, after people began criticizing him for being the first transgendered on "Dancing with The Stars."
"This is Still America right? It took guts 2 do it," Cher tweeted before adding that she supports her son no matter what.
