A new TV show with a celebrity couple in the lead is around the corner. This one will star singer LeAnn Rimes and her husband and actor Eddie Cibrian.
Rimes revealed some details about the show in an interview with People magazine. "We're doing a TV show based on our reality. We'll take things out of our lives and elaborate them and make them funny. People have been laughing at us - we want them to laugh with us!" she said.
Rimes and Cibrian, who met during the shoot of their TV movie "Northern Lights" in fall 2008, reportedly became romantically involved a little later and decided to end their respective marriages. The couple tied the knot in 2011.
"For some reason, everyone is so interested in our lives but they don't actually know about them. What they read is what they see. We want to be able to take control of our lives again so we want to do a show about us, about our lives, but scripted," added Rimes. The show is yet to have a name or a channel.
Meanwhile, Rimes is doing the publicity rounds for her new album "Spitfire". The album will be out on June 4.
She spoke to Us Weekly about how the songs on the album stemmed from the intense scrutiny her romance with Cibrian received. "I think I opened up the can of worms for myself by writing this record. There were a lot of things I didn't even realize I was feeling...I needed to go somewhere and really process all of that stuff," she said. "I was feeling all these crazy emotions and feeling terrible about myself and was disgusted by myself and thought I was pathetic."
Rimes believes that she's in "the strongest, most honest, most secure and most confident" phase of her life at the moment. "Sometimes it takes walking through those tough times to come out the other side stronger and wiser. I'm gonna make mistakes as I move on in life, but that's who we are, and I'm fortunate that I've grown a lot and I'm proud of who I am now...it's a good place to be," said the 30-year-old singer.
