J.Lo’s Sexy Performance on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ Irks Some Viewers

Jennifer Lopez, or J.Lo as most of the world calls her, has raised eyebrows in the past with her choice of outfits and has managed to ruffle British feathers with a new one. On Tuesday night's episode of "Britain's Got Talent", Lopez was scheduled to perform her new single "Live It Up". For her look for the night, she chose to go with thigh-high boots and a body-hugging black leotard that showed off her much talked about derriere (after all, a line in the song goes "I know you like my bumper, don't be ashamed"). The getup looked almost the same as the red one Lopez wore at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards.

Lopez's energetic performance drew a standing ovation from the judges and the applause of the audience. "Jo lo incredible on the show tonight. A total superstar," tweeted Simon Cowell, later correcting his misspelling her name.

Viewers back in their homes, though, were less impressed, with some considering Lopez's sexy performance inappropriate for a family audience at prime-time.

Ofcom, a media regulatory body in the UK similar to FCC, has said that it has received complaints, which are being assessed, though not investigated, at the moment. "If we consider the potential that the broadcasting code wasn't abided by, there is potential we would investigate. But it's too early to speculate," said a spokesman for the organization in an article on E! News.

Whether this outfit will find a place in public memory like that infamous Versace dress that Lopez wore to the Grammy Awards in 2000, is something only time and the singer's future fashion choices will tell. Lopez spoke about that dress in an interview with Harper's Bazaar earlier this year. "I have that at home," she said. "The other day, my housekeeper put it on a mannequin in my spa, where I get my hair and makeup done. She sent me a picture. She was like, 'You like this dress?' Um, yeah, but I don't know if I like it out in the house!"

Lopez is slated to perform at the Sound of Change concert in London on June 1 and what she wears there, so close to this controversy, will definitely be worth looking out for.
