A new death hoax claiming actor Sylvester Stallone died in a car accident has gone viral on the Internet, according to media reports.

Sylvester Stallone is the latest victim of a death hoax. The rumor claims that the actor met with a fatal accident recently. The news started with a Facebook post about the actor's passing. The post features a video image of a crashed car and a mug shot of the 67-year-old actor. The video asks users to click the play button to view footage of the car crash. The post is captioned "R.I.P. Sylvester Stallone Died in a Horrible Car Accident! His driver was drunk didn't saw truck." Not surprising, the post has now been deleted.

The rumors were confirmed to be false. According to Hoax-Slayer.com, the image used in the post is from a 2013 article published by JournalStar.com. The crashed car is from an accident that took place in Beatrice, Nebraska, some time ago. Many fans also took to Twitter to turn down the rumors.

"A Facebook post saying Sylvester Stallone died in a car accident and another claiming he died of a heart attack after hitting the gym are just scams and don't have a shred of truth to them," a user posted on Facebook.

"One reads: "[CNN NEWS] SYLVESTER STALLONE IS DEAD He died from heart attack after going to the gym! The other one says, "[R.I.P] Sylvester Stallone Died in a Horrible Car Accident! Neither one are true, and Stallone is still very much alive."

"Sylvester Stallone Died in Car Accident / Heart Attack at Gym are Fake," a user posted on Twitter.

"How can people be so mean and #hoax about that #SylvesterStallone died in a car accident.... a rumor that I saw on #facebook," another user posted on Twitter.

Earlier last week, Justin Timberlake also fell victim to his second death hoax. The reports claimed that the actor also died in a car crash. To add authenticity to the post, there was a picture of a crashed car accompanied by Timberlake's pics. Other stars that have been victimized by such hoaxes this year include Miley Cyrus, Zayn Malik, Rihanna and Lil Wayne.

In real news, Stallone apparently wants to make a "Rambo V." He told Vulture a few days ago that he's already training for the movie.

"I'm getting ready for that," he told the website. "I'm starting to work out. I'm going to be appropriately vicious and all that stuff, but intellectual. A killer with a heart ... Smart, yet stupid. Tall, yet short. Broad, but thin. You know what I mean. We're going to try to cover all the boundaries."
