Longtime friends Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry were spotted over Memorial Day weekend at a stranger's wedding rehearsal in Santa Barbara, Calif.
The two were quietly sitting in the back of a courtyard at San Ysidro Ranch watching the procession of bridesmaids, family members and groomsmen practice for the upcoming wedding ceremony, People magazine reports.
"It was extra exciting for Tanya and John," a close family member of the bride told the magazine. "They were just sitting quietly and talking." the relative said.
The family member added that the wedding party respected Pattinson and Perry's privacy and had no idea why the two celebrities showed up to watch the event.
With Pattinson's recent split from Kristen Stewart, Perry might have been helping her friend mend his broken heart. It has been reported that the "Fireworks" singer encouraged him to end his relationship with Stewart after her cheating scandal with married director Rupert Sanders. Perry felt that his relationship with Stewart could not be mended.
"Katy told Rob she didn't think their relationship could withstand the cheating scandal," an insider told Life & Style. "And he deserved better than someone who would destroy a family [like Rupert's]."
Since the breakup Pattinson was spotted moving his belongings out of his Stewart's house and has since settled back into the single life at his Hollywood home.
Despite Perry being so comforting, the two being spotted together is only fueling rumors that Perry might have contributed to the breakup. The Daily Mail is reporting that Stewart was not happy when Pattinson was spotted wit Perry at a concert in New York. An argument over the outing is said to have been a final straw and is one of the factors leading to their breakup.
