Desiree Hartsock gets a second shot at finding love, as the nation watches, on ABC's next season of "The Bachelorette" which will premiere on Monday.
Followers of the show will recognize Hartsock from the last season of "The Bachelor" where she was eliminated from the dating competition after a date with Sean Lowe, where he met her family in her hometown. According to ABC, "Millions watched, stunned, as Sean sent Desiree home, and they fell even more in love with her as she struggled to tell him he was making a big mistake." This time around on "The Bachelorette", Hartsock will call the shots. ""I wanted to come back, because I know from first-hand experience the feelings are very real, and you really can form a relationship from it," she said in an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM show on Friday. "Throughout this season, you'll see I really wanted to make sure I was going to be the right person for them, as well, because I was really aware of that. I made sure if I'm not going to be the right person for you, let me know. It's always a two-way street."
Viewers of "The Bachelorette" can look forward to Hartsock finding out more about her suitors, as well as the world. She'll make her first trip to Europe with the men, travelling to Germany and Spain for dates.
The chances of finding true love that lasts though, could be a bit of a problem, with more misses than hits on the track record of "The Bachelorette". Last season's star Emily Maynard and her beau Jef Holm called off their engagement in October last year, with Maynard saying they were both at different points in their lives.
Insisting that she didn't sign up for "The Bachelorette" to become an actress, Hartsock, 27, hasn't returned to work as a bridal stylist yet. "Well, I just got back recently, so I'm just getting back to my life and then I do want to work on design," she told Newsday. She still hopes to be a "bridal gown designer with her own boutique" someday.
