Michigan Woman Shoots Lover Because Sex Was Bad

A Michigan woman was released on bond last week following her conviction for shooting her partner because he was bad in bed, The Detroit News reported.

Sadie Bell, 58, was found guilty in April of intent to do great bodily harm after she shot Edward Lee, who is married to another woman, because his performance was not to her satisfaction.

The Southfield woman also admitted she shot her lover of 15 years because she thought he was cheating on her during the July 2013 incident.

"She was pretty graphic about why she had shot him," Paul Walton, assistant prosecutor for Oakland County, told The Detroit News. "She was convinced he was having an affair. She reached this conclusion by the fact that he didn't produce enough ejaculate. So she shot him in the stomach."

Though the victim survived he suffered massive damage to his pancreas, liver, kidney and colon and was in the hospital for over a month. Bell, who was also convicted for felony firearm, was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison. She was released Thursday on $10,000 cash or security bond pending an appeal for her sentence, according to The Oakland Press.

But Walton said Bell should not have been released while her case is appealed due to her violent past. Bell was charged for shooting her husband in 1991. She was never tried because her husband refused to testify.

"You have a woman who has shown she has a habit of acting out in a violent manner," Walton told The Oakland Press. "She's a danger to the public and she should be held accountable for her actions."

Prosecutors have filed a motion to have Bell's bond revoked. They remain confident her conviction will stand.

"There weren't any unique circumstances," Walton told The Oakland Press. "This case was very straightforward. We're confident we will be confirmed."
