Gun-Carrying Waitresses Serve Customers At Colorado Restaurant

Customers are flocking to one Colorado restaurant where the waitresses serve burgers with a smile and carry guns.

Staff at the aptly named Shooters Grill, in Rifle, Colorado, can be seen carrying firearms as they serve hungry customers. The gun-carrying trend began when the owner started carrying a pistol after opening the place a year ago, and in a state where open carrying guns is legal, customers don't seem to mind.

"No one has ever turned around and walked out because they saw a gun," Lauren Boebert, the owner, told Fox News. "They might have left because it was too crowded, praise the Lord. But not over the guns."

Even the menu reflects the weapons theme, with items named "Smith & Wesson Grilled Cheese," "Locked and Loaded Nachos" and "M16 burrito," Fox News reported.

The walls are adorned with copies of the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the Pledge of Allegiance, MSNBC reported.

Waitresses at Shooters Grill do not need an open carry permit to wear guns while serving the restaurant's specialty half-pound burgers. But they are required to take a five-hour training course, which Boebert makes sure they take.

The 27-year-old said she began carrying a pistol last year for protection.

"I started open carrying maybe a month after we opened just because I am a woman in business and I was there early hours and late nights," she told Fox News. "There was a man beaten to death in the alley behind my restaurant last year. It was very unfortunate."

Not everyone is enthusiastic about dining while surrounded by guns. The anti-gun group Moms Demand Action for Gun for Sense in America has already convinced several businesses to ban guns, including Starbucks, Jack in the Box and Chipotle, according to MSNBC.

But Boebert's heat-packing waitresses will continue the practice after increasing the restaurant's business. Boebart even encourages her customers to carry guns to the restaurant.

As far as customers' safety is concerned, it seems Boebert has that covered – the restaurant doesn't serve alcohol.
