Donkeys Suspected In Mauling: Animal Drags 65-Year Old Dies Off Motorcycle

Two donkeys are suspected in the mauling of 65-year-old Sander Horvath according to ABC News. The attack took place in Hungary May 13, when Horvath, a retired firefighter, was driving his motorcycle near a small farm.

The donkeys reportedly dragged Horvath off his motorcycle "55 yards biting and trampling him." The donkeys are currently being held "under observation for another week before their fate is decided."

"Donkeys can become very aggressive, very mean, sometimes triggered by female in heat," David Soward, Atacosa County Chief Deputy, said. "We'll probably never know what triggered it, but it was evident that this particular donkey was involved, based on the evidence at the scene and what we saw on this donkey."

It's unclear which injury Horvath suffered resulted in his death. There have been no reports on if the donkeys will be put down for the death of Horvath or not. Horvath's family and the owner of the donkeys have not come forth with a statement related to the incident. Investigators are contemplating the possibility of the animals being provoked by the deceased but with no witnesses, it is hard to tell.

Donkey attacks don't make headlines often but in 2012, a donkey was blamed for the death of William "Bill" Bohlke. Male donkeys are known for their aggressive behavior towards each other while generally the species is viewed as stubborn creatures.

According to International Science Times, when a Donkey is mad, you may want to get out of their sight. Donkeys do not discriminate and will charge at anything and anyone when they're angry.

Authorities will continue their investigation in hopes of granting the Horvath's family answers and deciding whether or not the donkey are a threat to the Hungarian community.
