Actor Simon Pegg has chosen sides in the Edgar Wright and Marvel drama and proclaimed his feelings on Twitter.

Pegg recently tweeted he felt "lucky" to have read Wright and Joe Cornish's Ant-Man script. Speaking to Sky Movies, Pegg elaborated on his comment without giving away what the real behind-the-scenes issue between Wright and Marvel.

"I think it's a terrible shame," Pegg said. "I get why perhaps it's happened. Maybe they want a particular thing in line with a particular other thing, but if you hire a director who has a particular vision, you've got to expect him or her to make a such and such film. An Edgar Wright film. That's what that script was and it was interesting. The characters had a real journey. I can't really say too much about it because obviously it's not my thing, but it's their loss."

Pegg's comments go along with Wright's "creative differences" being the reason of his departure from the production. However, Pegg's references to the scrip goes along with what insider source told The Latino Review about Wright's departure.

"Six weeks ago Marvel took the script off them and gave the writing assignment to two very low credit writers. One of the writers were from Marvel's in house writing team. Edgar stayed cool, agreed to stay on the project, and read the draft," The Latino Review reports. "The script came in this week and was completely undone. Poorer, homogenized, and not Edgar's vision. Edgar met with Marvel on Friday to formally exit and the announcement went out directly after."

Peyton Reed will now direct the film starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly. "Ant-Man" will be release to theaters on July 17, 2015. You can check out the film's official synopsis below:
