Nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer Mary J. Blige is adding more drama to an already long list of financial troubles, despite her tremendous musical success.
The "No More Drama" songstress reportedly has not paid her taxes so the IRS has slapped her with a $3.4 million lien, the NY Daily News reports. The lien alleges Blige has filed to pay her taxes for several years.
Records reportedly show the R&B diva owes the government $574,907 from 2009, $2.2 million from 2010 and $647,604 from 2011, The Daily News reports.
The most recent lien piles on to the recurring list of financial and legal troubles the singer has incurred. Bank of America recently sued Blige in New York State Supreme Court, on claims she took out a $500,000 loan and did not pay it back in full, The Daily News reported. Blige and her husband Martin Isaacs were also sued in November by Signature Bank for defaulting on a $2.2 million loan.
But tax issues are nothing new to a celebrity world of excess and complacency. Lindsey Lohan allegedly "forgot" to pay her 2009 taxes, TMZ reported a lien on her finances because of it. Oscar winner Nic Cage reportedly has a $6 million lien on his income for unpaid taxes from 2007. Khloe Kardashian has also experienced a tax lien for just not paying.
But probably the most famous of the tax culprits is Willie Nelson who made an album to help with his $32 million tax lien. Sales from "The IRS Tapes - Who'll Buy My Memories" went towards Nelson's bill that was allegedly settled for $16 million.
