Justin Bieber's pet monkey, Mally, is costing the singer a lot of money. German custom officials announced the bill for the housing, feeding and caring for Bieber's pet could cost thousands of dollars.

Bieber had to leave the monkey in quarantine in Germany during a recent tour, after arriving without the proper paperwork to bring Mally into the country. Germany quarantined the monkey in March and so far the animal has not been reclaimed the Los Angeles Times reports.

Customs officials told the Associated Press that they had received emails from Bieber's management suggesting the singer didn't want the monkey anymore and was asking for help finding the monkey a good home, but they did not hear anything from Bieber himself.

Customs says unless they hear from Bieber or his lawyers as of midnight "he loses ownership of the animal and it becomes the property of the Federal Republic of Germany."

"Our contact is the person that the monkey belongs to," said customs spokesman Thomas Meister. "We've had contact with lots of people but none of them was an authorized representative."

Regardless if customs hears back from Bieber and his team, the singer will be charged anyway.

"You can bet we are going to ask for that money back," Meister told the AP.

This is just a long list of incidents for the pop star. In the recent months, Bieber has come under fire for comments he left in the guestbook at the Anne Frank House, the singer was attacked by a fan in Dubai, was criticized for posting photos of him having a beer and was deemed one of the most-hated musicians in America in a Public Policy polling survey.
