Will.i.am & Britney Spears Begin Work on Her Eighth Album

Britney Spears, the Queen of Pop is making her comeback with a little help from her good friend, Blacked Eyed Peas' front man Will.i.am, who will be an executive producer on her new album.

"We start next week," he told Billboard at the Museum of Natural History in New York, where he was honored with a Cilo Award.

He's taking a different approach and "before we even start we've had these juicy sessions, where we've been bonding, building the trust and comfort. I've never worked like this before - not even the Peas.

"I wanted to just go to lunch for two months, which is totally different from how you typically do it," The Grammy-award winner said. "I said, 'Let's talk about what you're excited about. Let's talk about things you've done in you career, what you're happy about.

Let's talk about spending time with your kids, let's talk about your breakup. Let's talk about how now you're single, how independent you might feel.' We started talking about all that stuff. So I said, 'do you mind if I write this down? I don't mean to impose but I want to interview you. I need this to create a filter.'"

This is not Will.i.am and Spears' first collaboration. Back in 2011, Will.i.am produced and provided vocals for the song "Big Fat Bass" on her album Femme Fatale. Most recently, she provided vocals for "Scream and Shout" on his solo album "#willpower." The song is the most successful solo single of his, peaking at the number three spot of the Hot 100.

No word yet on a release date for her album but the singer is scheduled to head to Sin City later this year to begin her highly anticipated residency.

With Spears heading to Vegas later this year, you can catch Will.i.am at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards this Sunday where he is scheduled to perform his hit song "#thatPOWER" alongside another talented musician, Justin Bieber.
