Keith Urban Returning to Idol? Executives Still Deciding On Country Star's Fate

Despite reports that "American Idol" is looking to bring in a whole new set of judges for next season, there is at least one judge that hopes to make a return to the reality competition.

Country singer Keith Urban remains hopeful that he will be returning to the judging panel next season.

"I would," Urban said when asked if he'd like to return for season 13, according to People. "I mean, I literally enjoy coming to work every day, and that's a rarity."

Keith's confession comes as reports surfaced that executives at Idol want to eliminate the current judging panel and start fresh next season.

"I joined an ensemble like this in the same way I joined a band," the 45-year-old Grammy winner said. "I like being in a team and I felt that immediately, with host Ryan Seacrest and Randy, particularly."

Randy Jackson, who has been on the judging panel since season one, announced he would be leaving the show. Most recently, reports have surfaced that Nicki Minaj would be following in Jackson's footsteps. No word on Mariah Carey and her status with the show.

Despite the big names and the feud between Carey and Minaj, Idol has suffered in the ratings game this year with some of its lowest ratings in the show's 11-year history.

The finale airs tonight and it's down to Kree Harrison and Candice Glover. No matter who wins tonight, this will be the first time there has been a female winner since Jordin Sparks in season seven.
