Tech analysts have stated that Samsung's Galaxy S5 K Zoom smartphone resembles a standard smartphone, rather than the company's Galaxy S4 K Zoom, according to Trusted Reviews.
Samsung released the S5 Tuesday, after first notifying consumers to check out the company's Instagram page.
Samsung's VP of Information Technology in the United Kingdom and Ireland told Trusted Reviews the mobile device caters to all types of the company's customers.
"We know that our customers all have different demands and needs, and the Galaxy K Zoom is the latest example of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that we have something for everyone," Simon Stanford said. "What most of our customers od have in common though is a desire for a mobile device that has a great camera."
The phone has a 4.8-inch screen, 20.7 megapixel sensor, 10x optical zoom, an image stabilizer for taking clear photos, a camera shutter button and a button to zoom in or out.
"The Galaxy K Zoom has a range of features that mean they can effortlessly take and share those photos and with the convenience of a Galaxy smartphone," Standford said.
The device also has a 1.6 gigahertz processor, along with two gigabytes of random access memory or RAM, and Android's Kitkat operating system.
Samsung's Galaxy S5 zoom announcement comes just a few weeks after some consumers began seeing an error message on the phone's camera.
Verizon told the company's consumers with affected devices to expect a new smartphone when the company sends out replacements.
"Galaxy S5 customers who see 'Warning: Camera Failed' please contact @VZWsupport and we'll work to resolve it, including replacing the device," the company said in a post on their Twitter account, Friday.
The Galaxy S5 operates on Android's 4.4 KitKat system. The phone also has a 5.1 inch 1080 pixel high definition screen, a 2.5 gigahertz quad core processor and 16 megapixel camera according to Ars Technica.
