With Warner Bros. official confirmation of a "Justice League" movie comes more casting rumor buzz surrounding the "Man of Steel" franchise.

Warner Bros. President of Worldwide Production Greg Silverman confirmed to The Wall Street Journal the "Batman vs. Superman" film will lead into the "Justice League" plot.

Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Henry Cavill are set to reprise their roles as Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman in the film, but TheWrap reports the production is already eyeing an actor for the role of Aquaman.

"One casting rumor that has been circulating around Hollywood for more than a year is that Affleck's close friend and collaborator Matt Damon is being sought to play Aquaman, though to be fair, Jason Momoa has also been rumored for that role (among others), and he is expected to appear in 'Batman vs. Superman' in some unknown capacity," TheWrap reports.

As for a "Wonder Woman" spinoff, Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing, told WSJ with the right script, Gadot could be carrying a film by herself.

"That is our hope," Kroll said.  "With the right script, that could be viable. The world is ready for her."

Warner Bros. has yet to announce a release date for the film, but Latino-Review reports insider sources claim the film is slated to hit theaters in the spring of 2017.

"Again, that is the rumor I am hearing. It makes sense," the Latino-Review reports.  "If the President of Production is officially going on the record by saying that the movie will indeed follow 'Batman vs. Superman' then May 5, 2017 is a great date to plant a flag. Early May is now the most sought after release date in the tentpole business. I wouldn't expect confirmation until comic con at the earliest."

"Batman vs. Superman" will be released to theaters on May 6, 2016.
