Shakira is out for the next season of "The Voice" to make way for pop diva Christina Aguilera's return.

Christina Aguilera will return as a judge next season, according to Deadline Hollywood; which means Shakira is out. Details have not been released on Cee Lo Green's return, only that he is in negotiations to make a comeback, according to The Wrap.

Aguilera will reportedly earn $12.5 million for season five of the show, according to the Hollywood Reporter. But other media outlets such as The Wrap have her pegged at $17 million. Mariah Carey reportedly earns $18 million for her judging responsibilities on "American Idol."

Aguilera was replaced by Shakira for season four of the vocal competition. Cee Lo Green was replaced by Usher. Aguilera reportedly left the show to promote her album "Lotus" and Green went on hiatus to promote his new round of Vegas shows. But Green told "Today" last year he would be back for the fifth season.

Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are also predicted to return, reuniting the original cast of judges.

NBC's "The Voice" begain airing in 2011. Judges on the show not only blindly choose contestants on who they think has the best "voice" in initial rounds, but then go on to coach finalists as part of individual teams. Out of three completed seasons, Blake Shelton's teams have won two competitions, while Adam Levine's team won the first competition with winners from each team winning the entire competition.

The series is produced by Mark Burnett who is also responsible for television shows "The Bible," "Survivor," "Celebrity Apprentice" and "Shark Tank." The Emmy Award-winning producer told the Hollywood Reporter that he expected some judging transitions due to the nature of their stardom.

"These are current touring artists, so it's a matter of balancing schedules," he said. "They're all in demand, and we're just balancing it all."
