Vogue has confirmed fashion photographer Terry Richardson will no longer be working for the magazine after another model claims he attempted to exchange sex for work.
Model Emma Appleton shared a snapshot of a conversation she allegedly had with Richardson, claiming he would book her in a Vogue fashion shoot if he could "f***" her. However, the photographer has denied the conversation.
"This is obviously a fake. Terry did not send this text," Candice Marks, aspokesperson for Richardson, told BuzzFeed.
Vogue released a statement to TheWrap after seeking a comment about Appleton's alleged conversation with Richardson.
"The last assignment Terry Richardson had for US Vogue appeared in the July 2010 issue and we have no plans to work with him in the future," Hildy Kuryk, communications director for US Vogue told TheWrap.
Appleton deleted her Twitter account soon after she posted the screenshot of Richardson's message. Before taking down her account the model tweeted, "beginning to wish I hadn't posted that... it doesn't matter who you are or what the industry is, just be a decent human being...The fact people think this is acceptable blows my f***ing mind. See ya."
There have multiple allegations against Richardson claiming he has engaged with inappropriate sexual acts with models during his photo shoots. However, Richardson has never been charged or convicted of any crimes. The photographer recently released a statement to The Huffington Post about the allegations against him titled "Correcting the Rumors."
"People will always have strong opinions about challenging images, and the dichotomy of sex is that it is both the most natural and universal of human behaviors and also one of the most sensitive and divisive," Richardson wrote.
"Over the course of my career, I have come to accept that some of my more provocative work courts controversy, and as an artist, I value the discourse that arises from this. I can only hope for this discourse to be informed by fact, so that whether you love my work or hate it, you give it, and me, the benefit of the truth."
