During an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman actor Johnny Depp denied rumors that his fiancée Amber Heard was pregnant and joked about his big "female" engagement ring.
Johnny Depp's "chick" engagement ring has been the talk of tinsel town ever since he flashed the bling at reporters, confirming his engagement to Amber Heard. During an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, the actor joked about his big "female" ring.
"I have a female engagement ring," Depp said according to Us Weekly. "Yes -- it was too big for my girl. She is wearing the other one. I think people are too scared to comment, 'Why is a grown man wearing a woman's engagement ring?'"
The actor then went on to rubbish rumors that Heard was pregnant in another interview Friday with Today's Savannah Guthrie.
"Expecting what? A child? Good god, what do you think I am, a savage?" he said. "No, no truth to that. It's not a shotgun affair. She's a wonderful girl. She's sharp as a tack. A southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me."
The two first met on the sets of "The Rum Diary," filmed in Puerto Rico in 2009. At that time, he was in a relationship with French model-singer Vanessa Paradis. That relationship lasted seven years before Depp called it quits in 2012. The couple has two kids - daughter Lily Rose, 14, and son Jack, 11.
Depp is currently in Beijing to promote his new movie "Transcendence." In an interview with Daily Herald, the actor revealed how excited he was about the film and what makes the film different from any other film he's done so far.
"The technology that exists within the film, what I find most fascinating is that a lot of it exists already and by all accounts from scholars and professors and scientists that species of technology is not far away, that kind of artificial intelligence," said Depp in an interview, according to Daily Herald.
